ENVIRONMENT: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
(WASH) and Waste management are major environmental problems that our organization has its focus on. In 2005 the WHO estimated that 1 in 3 people are still without sanitation facilities while 663 million people still lack access to safe and clean drinking water. Maintaining good hygiene, adequate sanitation and proper hygiene education can reduce illness and death more so, keeping good hygiene is important for both health and social reasons. It entails keeping your hands, head, and body clean so as to stop the spread of germs and illness. In promoting SDG 6, which is global access to safe water, WICCI with support of our Partner provided a solar-panel borehole system for a community in Odeda Local Government, Ogun State, Nigeria. It conveniently serves four other neighboring communities.
