Background

Women, Infants and children care Initiative (WICCI) is a not-for-profit, non- governmental organisation based in Abeokuta Ogun State, Nigeria. The sole objective of the American Welfare scheme is to empower the physically disadvantaged groups in the society and to enhance standard of living. Typically, Africa has the greatest proportion of children who are orphans. It is known that Global orphan number would be falling without AIDS (United Nations Children Fund Zimbabwe). This spurred the idea to create a non-governmental organisation with the sole objective of catering for the interest of poor pregnant women/teenagers, single mothers, widows, infants and other vulnerable groups in the society. The organization was inaugurated in 2005 and was duly registered with corporate affairs commission in 2006.

"Love is not patronizing and charity isn't about pity, it is about love. Charity and love are the same -- with charity you give love, so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead."
